The Nature Express is a collaboration between Waterford & Suir Valley Railway and Paddy Dwan from Time Outside Nature Walks. The Nature Express departs Kilmeadan Station every Tuesday morning at 10am. Enjoy the train journey, through the countryside and along the Banks of the River Suir to Carriganore. Disembark at Carriganore where Paddy will be there to greet you and take you on an exciting journey through nature. Paddy will enthusiastically impart his love and knowledge of the River Suir, the wonderful bird life, flora and fauna of County Waterford, with a little bit of archaeology and social history thrown in.
The train journey lasts 20 minutes, the nature trail will last 2 hours and you can either return to Kilmeadan Station by train, departing Mount Congreve Garden Platform every half hour until 4.30pm or return on foot along Waterford Greenway (3km). If you would like to make a day of it, why not visit Mount Congreve Gardens also.

When: 10am every Tuesday in July, August and September. It can be arranged for groups on other days.
How long: Allow three hours for train trip and nature walk. Access to Mount Congreve Gardens is optional. You will spend a further two hours in the gardens and entry is €7.00. Refreshments/ lunch are available at Kilmeadan Station and Mount Congreve Gardens or bring your own picnic.
Who: This is suitable for Individuals, Families, Gardening Clubs, Active Retirement Associations, Scouts, Schools, basically anyone interested in nature.
