10 Best: Hallowe'en Treats By Pol O'Conghaile

Irish Independent Saturday - October 22 2011

Full scream ahead
It's Halloween, so watch out for ghost trains on (and off) the rails. Next Sunday, the Railway Preservation Society of Ireland runs its Broomstick Belle from Belfast to Whitehead; it's open to children in fancy dress, and the little goblins get a ghoulish goody bag, too. Elsewhere, the Cavan and Leitrim Railway is mounting a Horror Express to the forest of Dromod, the Waterford & Suir Valley Railway has a Spooky Express running on the abandoned Dungarvan to Waterford line on October 29, and the West Clare Railway is letting its ghost train loose on Sunday, October 30. Details: See (£11/€13); (€10); (€12/€10); (€5).
